Love Always Wins!

Hello my friend and Happy Easter! For a while now we have been talking about a very important topic! If you haven't guessed, it's LOVE! We have been looking for love.

We have a rhyme we've been saying and you can join right in just by repeating after me. Here we go:

We come today

And we're here to stay

We're looking for love

In just the right way.

For Jesus is clear

When we listen to hear

His love for us

Is oh, so dear

Thank you! Easter is a very big day every year because it is the day we celebrate that "LOVE WINS!" We celebrate that even though the people in power wanted to get rid of Jesus, in the end, Jesus' love never ends, never runs out, never dies. so love wins in the game of life.

Speaking of games, we've had a Scrabble board here with us for a few weeks. By the way, for those of you who haven't heard, Scrabble turned 85 years old this year, 150 million people have had the game in their homes in 121 countries in 30 different languages. We've been inspired to dust off this classic and have some fun with it! We've spelled out all kinds of lessons about love.

"QUENCH THE THIRST" reminded us that love is as important to life as water is to our bodies, and when we give love, we are helping others be refreshed and renewed.

"CARE LIKE A SHEPHERD" (or a sheep dog) taught us that they will get up right away to go bring on of the flock back to safety no matter what time of day or night.

"LOVE LIBERATES" helped us learn that true love frees others to be fully who God created them to be! These words are a good reminder to encourage others with our love.

"RESIST EVIL" helped us learn that we can say "no" to things that are not good for us or for others. This is one way to love, by choosing good and saying no to stuff that isn't loving.

"HELP OTHERS" made us remember how much love we actually feel when we give love to others through helping them.

"EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED" remember we talked about Jesus' unexpected choice of riding on a donkey in the parade. But this was something he had done before, that we should expect the unexpected when it comes to real love. It might be right in front of us. We just have to look.

"LOVE ALWAYS WINS" is our final message about looking for love. It's a simple message but oh so important. Love always wins because the bonds of love between us are stronger than anything else. Even if things don't go our way all the time, Jesus reminds us that we are still loved and lovable. Even if we experience something that is not loving from someone, Jesus say we are still loved and lovable. Even when we don't feel loving or lovable, love is still there because in the Bible God says, "I have love you with an everlasting love." That means a love that never goes sway is part of who we are and how God made us.

All throughout this Lenten season we have said, "God is Love and Love is God..." So here it is one last time. Please repeat after me:

God is Love

Love is God

Amen
