Jesus - The Original Transformer

Scripture of the Week: Acts 9: 1- 20

Message: We all know what a Transformer toy is. Transformers have the power to change from a robot into something like a car, a boat, or an airplane. These toys are so popular that they are in comic books, TV shows, and even full-length movies.

Transformers are just toys without any real powers, but do you know that there is a real Transformer who can totally change your life. That Transformer is Jesus! If you place your faith and trust in Jesus, he will transform your life into something that you never imagined. In today's Bible lesson, we will see an example of the transforming power of Jesus.

Many years ago, there was a Jewish man whose name was Saul. He did terrible things to the followers of Jesus. One day, Saul was traveling to the city of Damascus to hunt for Christians so that he could have them thrown into prison. On the way to Damascus, a bright light appeared. It was so bright that it blinded Saul. Saul heard the voice of Jesus saying, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?" Saul answered, "Who are you?"

Jesus replied, "I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. (You have to understand that when you hurt others. You are actually hurting Jesus too.)

Jesus sent a Christian man named Ananias to find Saul and heal him. After being healed by a Christian, Saul's life was transformed. In fact, he even got a new name. From that day on, he became known as Paul and instead of trying to destroy the Church, he went from town to town preaching and teaching in the name of Jesus.

People were amazed at the change that took place in Paul's life. That is what the transforming power of Jesus can do.

Heavenly Father, we want to feel the transforming power of Jesus in our life. In his name we pray. Amen.
