Don't Be Afraid When Things Change

Scripture of the Week: Mark 13: 1-8

Message: This week's scripture tells us another story of Jesus and his disciplines at the temple. As they were walking out of this huge, beautiful brick building, one of the disciples stopped and commented on how great this temple was built. Jesus told them not to be impressed by this building because one day it would be destroyed into a pile of rubble.

The disciples were afraid when they heard this. They wondered if that meant the world would come to an end when this happened. They later took Jesus aside and asked him questions about what he had meant. Jesus told them not to be troubled. He told them that many things would happen in this world and some would be very bad and scary. This makes me think about what we have been living through during the Covid pandemic. Life sure did change a whole awful lot for all of us, all over the world. The important thing is that we are making the best of things and still going on.

It is important to remember that as long as we put all of our trust in Jesus, no one or no thing that happens can destroy us. Amen
